Mom Horrified To ‘Discover Son’s Dead Body’ On Display At Museum

A mom has revealed her horror at discovering what she believes to be her deceased son’s body on display in a museum.

Kim Erick’s world came crashing down in 2012 when she received the devastating news her son Chris had been discovered dead at his grandmother’s house.

The Texas-born mom was told by cops that her beloved son had died in his sleep after suffering from two heart attacks caused by a heart defect, and two days later she was able to see his body in the funeral home.

Due to her overwhelming grief, Kim handed over the reigns to her former partner, Chris’ dad, to handle the process of having their son cremated, while his grandmother gave money to cover the cost of a funeral. But she says a funeral was never arranged.

Chris’ cause of death changed after further tests

A few days later, she received a necklace with a small amount of Chris’ ashes allegedly inside, but following a gut instinct that something wasn’t quite right, she asked police if she could see the photos taken of Chris at the scene.

After viewing the pictures, she noticed her son’s body was covered in bruises and lacerations, as well as a dent in his temple suggesting he had been hit in the head and what appeared to be dry cyanide salt on his lips.

“The photos were very disturbing. There was a chair with straps that matched restraining marks across Chris’s arms, chest and abdomen,” she told The Sun.

After weeks of convincing authorities to probe further into her son’s cause of death, she was horrified to discover she had been right, with a vial of Chris’ blood testing positive for a lethal amount of cyanide poison.

Despite changing his cause of death poisoning and launching a murder probe, the case was later dropped and investigators came to the conclusion Chris must’ve taken his own life, but Kim doesn’t believe this for one second.

Confusion over whether Chris was cremated

At first, she noticed the paperwork from the funeral directors where Chris was said to be cremated was missing signatures. Then, things became even more suspicious when, in 2018, the grieving mom stumbled across photos which she felt confirmed her suspicions that not all was as it seemed.

After finding images from the Real Bodies exhibition in Las Vegas, which features real deceased human bodies, she became utterly convinced she had found Chris’ remains.

“It took years of research. There were many steps I took before realising Chris might be one of the plastinated bodies,” Kim explained.

“I started looking online for the deep skull fracture I saw in Chris’s right temple of his head when he died. When I saw the plastinated body online in the news article with this same skull fracture… it was too painful to look closer.”

She also claims bits of skin and muscle have been shaved away in the exact areas where Chris had tattoos, suggesting the exhibition could have done this to conceal his identity.

Kim demands for the bodies to be DNA tested

Kim has tried endlessly to have testing done to prove the body belongs to her son, however the exhibition has flat out denied the claims, stating ‘there is no factual basis for these allegations,’ adding that they received the bodies from China.

Exhibition bosses said in a statement: “We extend our sympathy to the family, but the referenced specimen cannot be associated with the individual named in these claims.”

Despite this, Kim has vowed not to give up, insisting: “Chris was never abandoned in life, and I don’t want him abandoned in death either.

“I know Chris is gone and there is no fixing that, but the remains of his body are important to us.”

She continued: I’d like to see the 300 piles of human cremains tested for DNA to determine who these people were.

“Test them for any signs of plastination materials that might be present in the remains.”
