For the first time ever, the world is given an up-close look at the legendary Titanic ship, which tragically sank over a century ago. A team of experts visited the wreck site in the North Atlantic last year and captured three-dimensional images.
By combining sonar and photographic data, these experts created high-resolution images of the ship. Scientists emphasize that this is the first instance of capturing such detailed imagery of an object located deep beneath the ocean’s surface. These images were presented in a Virginian court during legal proceedings involving the RMS Corporation, which holds exclusive rights to explore the iconic vessel.
The estimated value of the 6,000 artifacts recovered from the ocean floor exceeds a million pounds. However, the costs associated with these search efforts are significantly higher. The location of the Titanic’s wreck, 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada, is notoriously challenging to access due to strong underwater currents and frequent storms.
