3 siblings among 4 killed in highway crash, authorities say

IMPERIAL, Texas (KOSA/Gray News) – Four people were killed, including three siblings, in a head-on crash on Wednesday, according to authorities in Texas.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash on Farm to Market road 1053 in Imperial involved a GMC Sierra and a Jeep occupied by the three siblings.

The Jeep caught fire and all three family members inside died at the scene, law enforcement said.

The driver of the truck, identified as 48-year-old Gary Liles, of Brownfield, was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Authorities have not publicly named the three siblings, but the Ector County Sheriff’s Office shared a GoFundMe that lists the victims as 18-year-old twins Jaden and Jackie Jurado and their 16-year-old sister, Nautica.

The three were Buena Vista Independent School District students and children of Ector County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Lt. Heather Perkins, who has worked with the department for 23 years, according to the GoFundMe organizer.

Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis said Perkins was one of the first law enforcement officers to arrive at the scene.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash investigation is ongoing.
