Horses are nature’s masterpieces, embodying a wild, majestic beauty that few other creatures can match. Among these magnificent animals, one stands out as perhaps the most stunning horse you have ever seen. This Turkish horse has been declared the most beautiful in the world by experts.
This horse is an Akhal-Teke, a breed descended from the now-extinct Turkoman horse. Only 3,500 of these rare horses exist today.
The Akhal-Teke is renowned for its coat, which appears to shimmer like gold. This breed, standing between 58 and 64 inches (147 and 163 cm) tall, is considered a thoroughbred. In China, the Akhal-Teke is aptly named “the horse from heaven,” and its divine appearance certainly lives up to this title.
Experts explain that the horse’s remarkable sheen is due to the unique structure of its fur, which reflects light in a way that amplifies its brightness. This golden fur, which helps the horses blend into their desert surroundings, is a characteristic they are born with.
Originating in Achal, Turkmenistan, around 3,000 years ago, the Akhal-Teke is believed to be the oldest and first domesticated horse breed in the world.
