Back in 1972, Jane embarked on an extraordinary adventure—a 600-mile journey from her home to the north of Scotland. This scenic route and the liberating sense of freedom left an indelible mark on Jane, inspiring her to continue this tradition for over five decades.
Her annual journeys typically span seven weeks, covering 15 to 20 miles each day. Nights are spent under the stars in a tent, accompanied by simple yet nourishing meals cooked over an open fire. Jane’s diet consists of hearty fare like oatcakes, porridge, and, of course, delicious cheese—because everything tastes better in nature!
Equipped with an old mobile phone boasting a six-week battery life (remember those days?), Jane is always prepared for emergencies, though getting a signal in remote areas can be a challenge.
